Update from our Chair

Dear Stanford Civil & Environmental Engineering Alumni, Friends, and Community,

I wish you all a very happy new year and hope it is off to a great start. Our department had a wonderful fall quarter full of academic and personal milestones. Of note, Professor Ali Boehm was officially inducted into the National Academy of Engineering, and Professor Khalid Osman and his wife Erica welcomed their second child!

In our highlights below, we welcome back CEE alum Professor Kristen Davis, who recently joined the faculty of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability in the Oceans Department. This past fall, she was appointed Courtesy Professor in CEE. You can read more about her work in this newsletter, along with many other department highlights.

We are grateful for your support and your ongoing participation in the Stanford Civil & Environmental Engineering community, and we look forward to continuing to connect with you in the coming year.

Sincerely,
Sarah Billington
UPS Foundation Professor and Chair
