Sammi Cannold, ’15

Sammi, included in the 2019 class of Forbes 30 Under 30 in Hollywood & Entertainment, has served as an Artistic Fellow at the A.R.T., a member of Cirque du Soleil's Creative Cognoscenti, and a Sundance Institute Fellow. Recent theater credits include Endlings and Evita, and her first documentary film, The Show Must Go On, premiered in 2021.
Melanie Chandra, ’07
Actress and Producer
Melanie is passionate about bringing more empathy to this world through her work. In line with that mission, she uses her platforms both on-screen and behind the camera to share powerful and diverse stories about women and minorities. She is best known for her work as Malaya Pineda on CBS’s Code Black, and currently has projects in development with Comedy Central and Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine.
Matthew Irving, ’93
Cinematographer
Matthew has lensed an eclectic slate of more than 35 feature films in nearly every genre imaginable, as well as various television, short form, and commercial projects. His hit theatrical releases Waitress (adapted into a Tony-nominated Broadway musical) and Waiting both cracked the Box Office “Top Ten,” and five of his features have premiered at Sundance.
Allison Schroeder, ’01
Screenwriter
Allison is a Writers Guild of America, BAFTA, and Oscar-nominated writer for Hidden Figures. Her other writing credits include Christopher Robin and Frozen 2. She’s currently working on Heart of Stone starring Gal Gadot as well as various other feature film and TV projects. In addition to her Stanford degree, she holds an MFA from University of Southern California.
