Our first anniversary has everyone celebrating all that we have achieved and looking forward to a second year of discovery, collaboration, growth, and innovation.

A self-described accidental environmentalist tells photographic stories about Earth, agriculture, and community, often from a glider and always with an expansive view, both literally and philosophically.
A deep respect and vision for her community’s Indigenous culture, rich history, and exquisite environment grounds the work of this dynamic Hawaiian educator and researcher.

The Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability hosted the entrepreneur and philanthropist for a discussion about global health, energy, and the future of Earth’s climate.

Student Spotlight
Inspired by science
Yuchen Li, ’26, who knew he had many options for summer research programs, chose to stay on campus and connect more deeply with the school’s dynamic departments. “You can study something that's with you every day, but also draw some fascinating insights about the statistics of the weather, like how the climate changes.”

2023 American Geophysical Union (AGU) Reception Dec. 11, 2023, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Marriott Marquis, 780 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA. We hope AGU Conference participants, guests, local alumni, students, faculty, and staff will join us for this festive gathering.

SDSS Alumni & Student Mixer Feb. 8, 2024, 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Huang 300, Mackenzie Room, Third Floor, 475 Via Ortega, Stanford. Join us at our annual mixer for current students, postdocs, and alumni, where graduates can share career stories and advice.
